Our stand in Cambridge Market Place, you will find us there most Saturdays, please say hello if passing.

Cambridge like Oxford is a University City, other cities in England are Cathedral cities. The University comprises of thirty one colleges, six academic schools, and nine museums, all the museums being open to the public, as are most the colleges. There are also one hundred and fifty departments, faculties, schools, syndicates and other institutions, as such it is a collegiate university. The official founding of Cambridge University is traced to a charter in 1231 from King Henry III of England although it is older, it is the third-oldest surviving university in the world. Cambridge's first college, Peterhouse, was founded in 1284.

The town is the University campus and the centre of the town is Market Hill, where we have the stand. Below is the coat or arms of the University.

Below, the stand in the Market Place, outside the Corn Exchange, where invites to church, Bible study, literature and free Bibles are handed out plus discussions. Many of the discussions are with tourists visiting from abroad and this is their first contact with Christians and the first time they have seen a Bible, some even have their picture taken with us they are so excited. Not only is the stand in the centre of the Campus, it is the centre of the tourist area and centre of the town where we meet locals, tourists and students. Tourists and students as can be expected, are from all over the world - what a wonderful opportunity to reach those who are lost, whether local or international! Jesus said (Mark 16:15,16) "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature, he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

To enjoy the pictures at their best, you may wish to use full screen by pressing F11 on your keyboard.

Below, above the shield of the City, we did not notice it, but after several weeks of tourists taking pictures of it we asked what they were taking and why - so here it is, it is immediately above the stand and our heads!

Below, our stand as it was last Autumn (fall), it has grown considerably since them. To the right in the background is St. Edmund King and Martyr Church, where the Reformation in England started. It has been joked by passersby with an understanding of history that with Muslim evangelism this is where the Reformation will stop! We of course wish to restore the first century church.

Disputing with the Muslims, Islam claims the Bible has been corrupted, we refute this and other falsehoods in their Qur'an, they cannot answer. At one time they were there weekly, we have not seen them for over three months. We always split into two parties, one party debated at their stand. They told us back in May they cannot evangelise when we are present (at their stand), we replied it is our intention to be at their stand permanently until they correct their literature misrepresenting their (blasphemy of) the Son-of-God, Christianity and the Holy Scriptures - The Bible. Since this discussion they have not returned. Throughout our discussions over several months we used their literature and Qur'ans to prove their errors. Darren, seen in the left of the picture is an ex-Muslim with a deep understanding of Islam. Often quite a large crowd would assemble listening to the discussions thanking us for our defence of Christianity. The early church had "favour with all the people" (Acts 2:47), and it is our intention to do likewise whilst being "set for a defence of the Gospel" (Phil 1:17) "earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered" (Jude 3). We very much regret these discussions have ceased. We were always respectful and polite and used first names, we exchanged email addresses, unfortunately their false gospel claimed to be given by an angel cannot be defended. "Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed" (Gal 1:7-9).

Below; we have added more advertising to the stand, and we are getting more and better discussions.

Below, Markus, A Cambridge Academic and atheist, he has been challenged to a formal debate which he has refused, he has also been told to stop using profanity, if atheism can offer nothing better than hate filled ranting from a Christianphobe, it may explain the terrible mess the West is in along with a lack of common sense!

Below; Buddhists turn up and meditate next to the stand, this creates interest and further discussions "why are you meditating" to which we answer, we're not, we're talking to you!  Maybe the Buddhists should meditate on 1Ti 4:15:

"Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."

Below; a lone Buddhist turns up, they always place themselves next to us!

Below; discussions at the stand, the second picture the visitor is sitting.

Below; a Falun Gong protester protests at Chinese authorities "harvesting organs" from Falun Gong members!

Below; Thomas putting up posters in the City Centre.

Below; the posters in the City Centre, being up after several weeks, at one time they were cut down in days, now they are left for weeks, even months.

This poster has flowers growing over it!

Below; I have been asked what are "buskers", here are some pictures, Cambridge has a very cosmopolitan feel.
